Marilyn Joan Cain

Marilyn Cain, age 91, formerly of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away on November 11, 2018.  Born December 28, 1926 the daughter of the late Lewis and Florence Barkley, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald (Jake) Cain.  Marilyn attended Nazareth College for one year, in Kalamazoo.  She worked as a bookkeeper and often volunteered at the library.  She liked knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader.  She enjoyed playing bridge and euchre.  Most of all she loved her family, and loved traveling to visit family and friends.  Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her children Kenneth (Kathryn) of Newaygo MI, and Donald (Helen) of Brisbane Australia;  Grandchildren Dylan (Rebecca), Daniella (Jack), David, Steven (Molly), Julie (Gustavo), great grandchildren Isaac, Lola, Patrick, Hannah, Margaret, Alexandria, and many nieces,nephews and friends. Marilyn was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all. The service to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held on December 2nd at Newaygo United Methodist church at 3:00 p.m. with a viewing at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice or Fountain View of Grant.
