David E. Novitski (Dave), 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 surrounded by his family. Dave was born on May 21, 1947 in Joliet, IL to Edward and Mary Novitski. He was a proud graduate of Northwestern University: first in 1969 with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, and then again in 1972 with a JD (Law) degree. Dave practiced law for over 40 years across Illinois, New York and California. Dave married Jane Mallie in New York in August 1974 and later had two daughters: Alexis and Samantha. And although they started out as east coasters, Dave and Jane have lived in Glendale, CA for over 30 years. Dave was the consummate sports fan – always with a game on the tv, no matter the sport. He had a special place in his heart for Northwestern football and basketball, the Chicago Cubs, White Sox and Bears, and of course, the LA Dodgers. He also loved to watch – and when he was able – play golf; we have no doubt that’s what he’s doing right now. Dave was a longtime practicing Catholic – very proud of his religious upbringing and his faith. And we’ll remember that faith as we try to be more like Dave: never complaining in times of adversity and always trusting in God’s plan.
