Mark Steven Olson, 66, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed peacefully on February 4th, 2025 with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born June 18, 1958 in Galesburg, Illinois, to Mary Amato Davis and Paul Stanley Olson. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Florida during the Blizzard of '78.

Mark had an incredible sense of humor, a charitable spirit, and a kind heart. He embraced life and in doing so encouraged everyone around him to do the same. He was genuine and expressive, with an infectious smile and a talent for acting and improvisation. Mark could embody any character to suit a particular occasion... be it a serious film production, a master of ceremonies, host of an event, or an elaborate prank amongst friends.

Adventurous and athletic, Mark lived life to the fullest. He excelled in sports and grew up playing competitive tennis. He was an avid kitesurfer, and enjoyed other extreme sports including windsurfing, snowboarding and rock climbing. He and his wife traveled the world, always pursuing new and exciting experiences and gathering new friends along the way.

Many will remember him for his partnership with his brother in M&M Beach Service, cabana and watersports rentals on St. Pete Beach. He also enjoyed a successful career in real estate.

Mark never met a stranger… he accepted and was loved by everyone he met. His charismatic personality and 'forever young' zest for life leaves a positive imprint and lasting legacy for all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Shelli Olson, siblings Stephanie Olson, Michael Olson and Kim Davis, extended family, and countless friends, both locally and across the globe. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 15th from 10:00am-12:00pm at Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made in Mark’s name to thebeachtheatre.org on St. Pete Beach.

His Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
