Joseph Michael Duplessis Obituary

Joseph Michael Duplessis, Sr., age 75, a native of New Orleans, LA, entered into the gates of heaven during his admission to The Veteran's Affairs Hospice Unit, with his devoted wife Ann, by his side on Friday, January 24, 2025. Son of the late Andrew Joseph, Sr. and Ida Thomatis Duplessis. He was a retired employee of P&G Folgers Coffee Company of New Orleans. Mr. Duplessis was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ann Farve in November of 1972 and to this union, two sons were born. In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Joseph M. Jr. (Taieka Marie) and Matthew David Duplessis; grandsons, Joshua, Joseph, III and Joel Duplessis; siblings, Gilda D. Toledano (Warren), Marie D. Thibodeaux (Manuel), Andrew Duplessis, Jr. (Bay) and Dick Martin Duplessis (Cindy); sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary F. Bailey (Earl, Sr.), Joseph B. Farve, Sr. (Doris), Lawrence A. Farve, Sr., Margie A. Farve and Raymond Smith (the late Theresa), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Duplessis is also preceded in death by his sister, Reva D. Duplantier (the late Dennis), mother and father-in-law, Morris F. Sr. and Mary Pichon Farve, as well as other dearly departed nieces, nephews and in-laws. All are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Joseph Michael Duplessis, Sr., will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields, New Orleans, LA 70122, on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 12 noon. Interment Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation 10 am with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11 30 am in the church.
