Minnie Jo Sibert, 82, of Augusta, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2025.

Jo as she was affectionately known, was originally born in Cherokee SC but lived in Augusta for a long time. She proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps. Jo was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with her bachelor’s in business administration degree and worked as a CPA for many years finally retiring at the age of 81. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Gamecocks and the Braves. If a game was on you can bet, she was in her recliner watching. She also enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mollie Naomi Weathersbee and Albert Fitzgerald Weathersbee; and her brothers Gary Weathersbee and Bill Weathersbee.

She is survived by her son, Billy Sibert and daughter in law, Daria Sibert; her grandchildren: Joey Sibert, Chris Sibert, Kaitlyn Smith (Nick), Ashley Kurowski (Nigh), Paige Rangel and Kylie Sibert; her great grandchildren: RileyElizabeth Hauser, Anne Marie Smith, Amelia Lou Smith, Grady Darren Smith, James William Smith due this spring and Baby Dorr due this summer; as well as many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
