William (Bill) Kenneth Tucker, 75 of Huntsville Al passed away Tuesday February 4th 2025. Bill said the only legacy that mattered to him was that people knew he was a devoted husband and a good Father.

Bill was born on December 10, 1949 and grew up in Haddon Twp, New Jersey. He graduated from Haddon Twp high school and enlisted in the United States Army where he served the country he loved dearly. He served in Korea where he was invited to a dinner party by a friend where he met his wife Chong Sun Kim(Kim). He said he knew he wanted to marry her after 2 weeks of knowing her. They dated for one year and against everyone’s advice married the love of his life and at the time of his passing was married for 55 years.

Bill attended Thomas Edison university where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill decided with help of a fraternity brother that even though he decided to live a civilian life that he still wanted to serve his country. Bill served in the Army reserves for 20 years. Bill started a career at Linde Gases upon graduation. During his 30 year career Bill was responsible for 7 patents and received the International Innovation Award. During his career he was known globally and traveled to Scotland, Germany, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul among several other countries.  His passion was inventing gas pressure systems that changed how microchips functioned.

Bill was a car guy. During his retirement he restored a 1965 Mustang convertible by hand and was active in the Rocket City Mustang Club. Bill would drive in community parades. His Mustang won several awards including Best in Show in the Mustang National Car Show.

Bill is survived by his wife Chong Sun(Kim), children Virginia Laughlin of Philadelphia PA, Cynthia Garrard of Miramar Beach Fl and Theresa Boswell of Arab Al. Bill was a beloved Father in law to Dave Laughlin, Jeffrey Garrard and Wade Boswell. Bill has 4 granddaughters, Hana, Lillian, Sophia and Evelyn.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eleanor Tucker and he brother Robert Tucker.
