Gail Priscilla Crisson Boggs, 85 of Graham passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Gail was born in Alamance County on April 15, 1939, daughter of the late Grover Franklin Crisson and Elsie Mae Davis Crisson. She was a charter member of Piedmont Baptist Church in Burlington. Gail loved the company of family and friends, coffee, her soaps and the beach. She filled her home with love and laughter and her walls with pictures of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as they were all special to her. She was her family's biggest cheerleader and was always there to offer a positive piece of advice. Gail was a loving wife, mother, ‘granny’, sister and Aunt to her family and she loved being from Saxapahaw where she grew up on the Haw River. Gail spent many years giving back to her community and church while serving alongside her husband Happy – be it at church, at the ballfield, at the center, she was always there to support. She was a very successful Mary Kay representative, ‘granny bread’ and cake salesman, and worked tirelessly in a hosiery production job while also raising four children, cooking, cleaning, canning, sewing, ironing, etc. We often wondered when she slept and yet, she was always so beautiful. She was certainly the competitive spirit in the Boggs household. Gail’s greatest accomplishment in life was to be a good and faithful wife and a loving mother and grandmother to her family - as with all things she touched, she excelled. Her children and grandchildren want to thank her for everything she did and sacrificed to make the ‘house on the hill’ the most loving and special place.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard "Happy" Boggs, her beloved son Eddie "Ron" Boggs, and her brothers, Hollis Crisson, Donald Crisson, Delmar Crisson, Johnny Crisson, and Harold "Tippy" Crisson.
Gail is survived by three children, Susan Stout (Marvin), Cindy Harris (Gregg) and Christy Deese (John); nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne Crisson (Martha) and David Crisson (Debbie).
A funeral to celebrate Gail's life will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Cornerstone Community Church in Graham (Saxapahaw) with her grandson Pastor Ricky Lowe, Jr. and great grandson Pastor Tyler Wood officiating. Interment will follow the service at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 12:45 pm prior to the service at the church. Friends and family are welcome after the service at her daughter Christy’s house for fellowship and remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully appreciates any memorials made in Gails memory to Mountain Highway Baptist Church PO Box 4220, Spanaway, WA 98387 the church where her grandson Pastor Ricky Lowe, Jr. serves or to Gospel of Christ Baptist Church 311 S Williamson Ave, Elon, NC 27244 where her great grandson Pastor Tyler Wood serves.
