<p><p>Clarence Wallace "Sonny" Keat, 89, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Whiting, New Jersey. Born on January 14, 1936, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Sonny was known for his kindness, compassion, generosity, and loving nature. Always ready with a smile, he cherished his family and friends deeply.</p><p><br></p><p>Sonny proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1958 to 1964 a period during which he dedicated himself to serving his country with honor. After his military service, he embarked on a career with A&amp;P Warehouse, where he worked until his retirement in 1997.</p><p><br></p><p>A graduate of Thomas Edison Vocational and Technical School, Sonny was not only committed to his work but also to various hobbies and interests. He was an avid collector of toy trains, a CB radio enthusiast, and a NASCAR fan. Sonny also enjoyed traveling, and he contributed to his community as a Boy Scout troop leader.</p><p><br></p><p>Sonny is survived by his spouse, Rosemarie; sons, Robert (Susie) and Ronald (Dawn); daughter, Debra DiGirolamo (Louis), David Hyer and Marie Hyer. He was a grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Velma Keat; his first spouse, Jean, his sister, Hilda; and daughter Robin Hyer.</p><p><br></p><p>The family is accepting visitors at their home on Saturday, February 1st from 2-6pm to honor Sonny's life. In Lieu of flowers, contributions ma be made to Tunnel to Towers, an organization that Sonny held in high regard.</p><p><br></p><p>Manchester Memorial Funeral Home in Whiting, NJ is assisting the family with arrangements. Sonny's life was a testament to service, both in uniform and in his community, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.</p></p>
