Becky Blackburn Obituary

Rebbecca Louise Blackburn, affectionately known as Becky to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the age of 70 in Pasadena, Texas. Born on September 17, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late William and Frances Burdeshaw. Becky's warm presence and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Becky lived a life characterized by devotion and service, both to her beloved family and her community. She was married to the love of her life, Ronnie Dale Blackburn, for 37 wonderful years until his passing. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Brenda Louise Hill and her husband Joe, Ronnie Dale Blackburn Jr., and Terra Blackburn. Becky's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, showering love and affection on her grandchildren Erik, Ronnie III, Jazmyne, Lilly, Kole, Ayden, Baby Arnold, Kylie, Kacie, and Kinsley.

In her professional life, Becky dedicated 18 years to the Galena Park Independent School District, where she served as a cafeteria worker. Her commitment to her work was evident in the way she nurtured and cared for every student who came through her line, ensuring they were not only fed but also felt seen and valued.

Becky's relationship with the Lord was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a devoted member of Old River Baptist Church, where she found great comfort and community. Her church family was an extension of her own, and she cherished the relationships she built within those sacred walls.

A woman of many interests, Becky found pleasure in the simple things in life. She was a regular at the Hilltop Hilton, where she exercised and played chair volleyball with friends, always with a smile on her face. Her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled, and she devoted countless hours to creating memories that will be treasured forever.

An avid reader, Becky found escape and adventure within the pages of books, often sharing her latest reads and recommendations with others. Her nurturing spirit extended to the care of her plants and the beauty of her garden. She took pride in her yard work, tending to her flowers and shrubs with the same love and attention she gave to every aspect of her life.

Those who knew Becky would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and kind. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature were her trademarks, and they shone brightly in every interaction. She approached life with a heart full of grace and a soul driven by generosity.

Becky's legacy is one of love, kindness, and faith. It is woven through the lives of her family, evident in the garden she tended with care, and felt in the hallways of the school where she served. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her influence will continue to inspire acts of love and kindness.

As we say farewell to Rebbecca Louise Blackburn, we take solace in knowing that her journey was a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a deep-seated belief in the goodness of people. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will forever guide us, like a beacon of light in the lives she has left behind.
