Ali G. Stahly, Jr. age 93 of Eureka, IL formerly of Carlock and Morton passed away at 10:14 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at The Loft, Eureka, IL. His funeral service will be 2:30 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers IL. Rev. Doane Brubaker will be officiating. Burial will follow at the North Danvers Mennonite Church Cemetery, Danvers IL. Visitation will be 1:00 PM-2:30 PM Friday at the North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, IL. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to North Danvers Mennonite Church, Yaqui Animal Rescue 1803 N. Bryan Road, Mission, TX 78572 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Carlock, IL
Ali was born June 10, 1925 in Carlock, Illinois, the son of Ali G. and Anna Weidinger Stahly, Sr. He married Dolores Hartman April 18, 1946 in Bloomington, IL. They farmed near Danvers where their children Roger and Susan were born. In 1957 they moved to Morton where Ali joined his brother Maurice in the transport and truck sales business in North Pekin. In 1970 Ali retired and he and Dolores spent their time between Morton and Sun City, Arizona.
Surviving is a daughter Susan and her husband Steve McCowan, Mission, TX,
their children Tim McCowan, Bloomington and Terri (Joe) Metz, and Susan and Steve’s grandson, Kameron Metz of Morton, along with special nieces, Joyce, Patricia and Sandy.
Ali is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolores on August 13, 2007, son Roger, and siblings, Cloyd, Lola, Etta, Opal, Lorene, Verda, Lory, Maurice and Norval. Ali was the last living family member.
