Robert Micheal Gatewood passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on March 23, 1982, Robert's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his passion for life.

A devoted father and family man, Robert's greatest joy was the time he spent with his children. His compassionate nature extended beyond his home, touching the lives of all who knew him. He was a hardworking individual, respected by his peers for his work ethic and leadership as the General Manager at Southern Hilltop BBQ.

Robert's hobbies included working on electronics, a testament to his patience and attention to detail. He was also a big jokester, always ready to lighten the mood with his quick wit. An avid swimmer, Robert found peace and relaxation in the water.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Gatewood; brothers, Lloyd Danaho, Roy Barnes; his great-grandparents; and his aunt Mary

Survivors include his wife, Tamitha Gatewood; mother, Susie Wilson; daughters, Alexis Gatewood, Serenity Norks; brother, Wesley Phenis; and sisters, Mandy Cox (Derick) and Denise West (Nathan).

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Matthew Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Warren’s Chapel Cemetery.

Wesley Phenis, Matt Phenis, Michael Barnes, Ian Cox, Zack Phenis, and Van Cox will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Derick Cox and Dustin Frost.
