Mariam Robbins Obituary

Mariam Rackieh Robbins, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 22, 1941, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Mariam’s life was defined by her deep faith in Jesus, love for her family, and unwavering strength through life's joys and challenges.

Mariam was united in marriage to James C. Robbins on September 8, 1973. Together, they shared over 50 years of love, laughter, and mutual support. Their bond was a shining example of devotion and partnership, and they built a beautiful life filled with memories that will continue to warm the hearts of those who knew them.

A woman of profound faith, Mariam lived her life with the intention of bringing glory to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a constant source of love and inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, praying daily for their well-being and guidance. Her faith and kindness touched countless lives, and she was a shining light in her family.

Mariam was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Faith A. Kennedy; her dear sister, Elizabeth Dewey; her brother-in-law, Ronald Dewey; and her parents, Minnie Alzora and Charles Bodady. Although these losses deeply grieved her, Mariam's grace, strength, and loving nature remained steadfast, and she continued to be a beacon of love and compassion to all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James C. Robbins, and their children: Roger Bockoven, Hope (Rick) Arthur, Jim (Sara) Robbins, and Tom Robbins. Mariam's legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Toni (Ross) Primack, Joy Kennedy, Nicholas Kennedy, Stayci Bockoven, Trayci Bockoven, Travis (Jessica) Bockoven, Adam (Rachel) Arthur, Alex (Chelsea) Arthur, Jenna Robbins, Austin Arthur, and Jake Robbins. She was also the proud great-grandmother to her 15 great grandchildren.  Mariam is also survived by her sister Tumi (Bobby) Breeden and her brother Allen Bodady.

A memorial service celebrating Mariam's life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 25 at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Visitation will start at 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Ames Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse in Mariam's honor.  Donations can be made at https://samaritanspurse.org./our-ministry/donate-online/

Mariam was a prayer warrior for her family, lifting up her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in prayer every day. Her love and commitment to them will remain in their hearts forever.

Mariam’s Master said to her:

“Well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master!”
