Ronald L. Mulder Obituary

RONALD LEROY MULDER was born on December 30, 1935 to Henry and Hermina (Meester) Mulder in Worthington, Minnesota. Ron lived his childhood years in Magnolia, Minnesota and was active in basketball, hunting, fishing and farming. He graduated as a Magnolia High School Bulldog in the class of 1954. Following his education, Ron went to work at the Connell’s garage until 1960. He then became employed at the Luverne Bumper Company. On November 24, 1962, Ron was married to Betty Viessman at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. The couple made their home in Luverne and was blessed with a daughter, Deb. In 1968, Ron started his job at IBP. He continued there for the next 30 years. In the fall of 1998, he began working at Hills-Beaver Creek Elevator which he continued until his retirement in 2015. Ron passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 12 days. Ronald was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Ron continued his childhood love of hunting and fishing throughout his life. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, racing snowmobiles, trapping and making his own traps, camping, gardening, puzzles and playing cards. He loved to be outdoors. He was a good and loyal friend who was known to give everyone nicknames (terms of endearment). If you needed something fixed, you could count on Ron. From electrical problems to welding to carpentry, Ron would help you out. He had a soft spot for dogs and loved bringing home strays. Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife Betty Mulder of Luverne; daughter, Deb Lusty and her husband Jon of Luverne; and granddaughter, Emma Lusty; two brothers, Erv Mulder of Canton, South Dakota and Duane (Joyce) Mulder of Luverne; and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
