Geneva Burkham, Eufaula resident, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 86. She was born on Monday, June 13, 1932 to Lewis Melvin and Clara (Longcrier) Camp in Eufaula, OK. She grew up at Belle Starr, attended Pulltite until the 8th grade. After moving to Malaga, NM, she married George Eugene Burkham on Wednesday, November 1, 1950 in Carlsbad, NM. Geneva worked on the family farm and worked in the school cafeteria. While working on the farm, she weighed the cotton keeping track of the cotton weight. She was a loving mother to her three children, Ronald, Roy and Sherri. In Carlsbad, NM, she ran the skating rink, trapped gophers, and raised cotton and alfalfa. In 1981, she moved to Checotah and raised cattle. She worked as a provider. They moved to Longtown, and then she moved into the nursing home. Junking and garage sales were her favorite hobbies. She attended the Assembly of God in Checotah. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Eugene Burkham in 2011; her sisters, Lula Dunn, June Prewitt, Mary D. Beaver, and May Dean Shipman; her brothers, Luvern Camp and LC Camp. She is lovingly survived by her children, Ronald “Ron” Eugene Burkham and his wife Marsha of Eufaula, Roy Melton Burkham and his wife Sam of NM, and Sherri Lee Cravens of Eufaula, OK; her grandchildren, Ronald Eugene Burkham, Jr., Jarrod Joe Burkham, Rhonda Rae Jean Vigil, Chanette Burkham Wilson, Jeffery Wayne Burkham, Chad Burkham, Marquis Trey Burkham, Quinton Ross Burkham, Slayden LeWayne Cravens, Chanc Corabin Burkham, Stetson Brock Cravens, Cory Burkham, and Makaeli Burkham; 32 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Geneva is also survived by her sister, Norma Lee Goins and her husband Tommy; her brothers, Carl Camp and his wife Janie and JC Camp and his wife Carolyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
