Sarah “Sally” Binney Rowe, 59, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born June 12, 1957, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harris and Alice Mary Rowe. Sally is survived by her sisters, Mary Rowe Henry, Millie (Harmon) Deal, and Julie Rowe, all of Jacksonville, seven nieces and nephews, Harris Cole Henry of Washington, D.C., Maggie (Adam) York, Madeline (Jake) Sorrill, Annie and Lucy Deal, and Carter and Sam Lockman, and four great-nieces and great-nephews, Finley, Henry, Talmadge, and Wells York, all of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sally attended Pathway School in Jacksonville and spent 35 wonderful years at the Stewart Home School in Frankfort, Kentucky, where her cheerleading team won state honors at the Kentucky Special Olympics. She was also a member of the hand bell choir, which had the honor of playing for President George H. W. and Barbara Bush at the White House in Washington, D.C. and at the Kentucky Governor’s mansion. Sally loved to travel and travelled extensively with Stewart Home School. Sally had an infectious smile and a love for life that gave great joy to all who knew her. Her greatest joys were her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends following the service. Private interment will be in Diamond Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Bob Freesen YMCA.
