It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Elizabeth Learmonth, age 74, on January 11, 2025, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Born on October 5, 1950, in Saint John, Joyce was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (nee. Vanwart) MacKay.

Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon James Learmonth.

She is survived by her sons, Alex Koti (Donna) and Rick (Tina) Learmonth, as well as her cherished dog, Gabby. Joyce was also a loving grandmother to A.J. (Marlee), Bailey, Abigail, Zachary, Jay, and Mindi (deceased), and a proud great-grandmother to Athena and Adeline.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Carl McKay (Dorothy), Sharon Mizener (Al), and Diane Whittaker (Harold). She is survived by her sisters Jean King (Bruce) and Linda (Harold) Putsey, who were a constant source of support and love throughout her life. Joyce also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many cherished friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, volunteers, and staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care of Joyce during her final days. A special thank you also goes to Kim from Bayshore for her compassionate care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
