WOODSTOCK - Bryn Kelsey, 84, of Shady NY, passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning on Friday, January 10, 2025, with her family at her side. Born October 30, 1940, at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sylvia Carmel Zucker. Bryn's life was marked by her warmth, artistic talent and spunkiness. Bryn's journey took her from the bustling streets of Manhattan to the serene landscapes of Woodstock, NY. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open Walkabout in Woodstock, NY, which she ran for over 40 years. Bryn found great pleasure in collecting handmade items from around the world and enthusiastically sharing with her customers her vast knowledge of the cultures they came from. Bryn was a pillar of support for many people during her lifetime. Known for her “unrestrained” honesty, compassion, and wise guidance, she was adored by her beloved friends. Family was paramount to her and there was nothing she would not do for them. For her children, grandchildren and great grandson, she modeled the importance of personal integrity and resiliency in the face of challenges. Everything about her conveyed her creative spirit, especially her paintings of pears, sunflowers, and landscapes, which resonated with many and will remain a testament to her talent and vision. She is survived by her daughter, Tzeitel Epstein; her son, Eric Kelley; her cherished four grandchildren, Katelyn Epstein, Sophie Wolff, Alex Epstein, and Nadia Kelley; great grandson, Kayden Patsey; her brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Sarah Zucker, and their three children, Zach, Eddie and Brett. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and the cherished memories of a life well lived. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hudson Valley Hospice. Visitation will be held 4PM- 7PM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM.
