Michelle Louisy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the age of 45 years.

Michelle was born in Burlington, ON, on December 22, 1978, and moved to Calgary, AB, around her first birthday.

She graduated from Mount Royal and Rocky Mountain Christian College, and from the University of Calgary and obtained a degree in Psychology. She was a mental health counsellor and an advocate for mental health. She worked with various organizations such as CUPS, the Women’s Shelter, and most recently, AHS. She had done Missionary work in El Salvador as well as San Francisco.

She had a passion for people, the arts, music, long walks, and most importantly, her family.

Michelle’s touched the lives of so many with her compassionate heart and her ability to love, this and her infectious laugh will be what she is most remembered for. Michelle’s favourite saying, “Let’s get ready to get down.”

Michelle is survived by her two brothers, Kareem and Jamal; and her parents Monte and Maria Louisy; as well as nephew Isaiah, nieces, Paris and Naomi Louisy; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Ms. Louisy’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
