Matthew J. Sellwood, 33, of Cazenovia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born in Syracuse on October 22, 1991, Matt was a graduate of Cazenovia High School, Class of 2009 and attended Monroe Community College. He served in the United States Navy.

     Matt loved Jiu-Jitsu, traveling, mountain climbing, being on the water and outside. He was an avid fan of the Lakers, Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and especially a Notre Dame fan. When Matt walked into a room everyone knew he was there.

      Surviving are his parents, Kim and Chuck Hayes and Richard Sellwood; siblings, Patrick (Mary) Walser, Christopher Walser, Erin (Nathan) Devine, Richard (Katie) Sellwood, Andreau (Amanda) McCallops, Charles (Paige) Hayes, Brittanie (Adam) Kowaleski Hayes; his girlfriend of 4 years, Nya Valez; uncle, Jeff (Beverley) McCulty; and several, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

       Calling hours are Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 11am to 12:45 pm at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. Military honors will begin at 12:45pm.
