Charles (Charlie) Brian Leavitt, 69, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at

Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, Maine.


Charlie was born on January 2, 1956, in Brunswick, Maine. He attended and graduated from Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine.

Charlie enjoyed basketball, 10 pin and candlepin bowling, collecting replica Maine lighthouses, writing poetry, drawing and spending time with friends and family.

He was employed as an Ironworker, working alongside his father and three brothers, and later went onto employment in the printing industry at Brunswick Instant Printing and later at Lewiston Sun Journal.


He is preceded in death by his father, Dudley H. Leavitt Sr., mother, Cora Leone Day Leavitt, brothers Andrew Leavitt, Michael Leavitt and Dudley Leavitt Jr., and a sister, Barbara Louise Poole.


He is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Ann Leavitt and her partner, Corey Ouellet of Etna, sisters Sandra Ann Daigle and her husband David of Bath, Pamela Jean Wright of Woolwich, Patricia Lee Brawn of Bath, and Dorothy Anne Contreras and her husband Bill of Topsham, brothers James Day Leavitt and his wife Rosalie of Topsham and Robert Scott Leavitt and his wife Victoria of Topsham and many nieces and nephews.
