Rita G. Fick Obituary

Rita G. Fick

Frankenmuth, MI

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and special aunt, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper, surrounded by her loving family, age 94. Born on December 29, 1930, in Bay City, MI, to the late Francis and Tillie (Martek) Covaleski, Rita lived a full and vibrant life.

A proud graduate of Bay City Central High School, Rita began her career at Bay City Chevrolet in 1949, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 1981. On September 9, 1949, she married the love of her life, Clifford Fick, who survives her.

Rita was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. She had a passion for golf and bowling and was a dedicated season ticket holder and avid Michigan State University Football fan for over forty years. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was well known, and she cherished traveling across the country and beyond, visiting places like Texas, California, Florida, Poland, Mexico, and Canada.

Rita also served as the Past President of the Local #362 Retirees Union, demonstrating her commitment to her community and fellow retirees.

Rita’s warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Left to carry on her legacy is her loving husband of 75 years Clifford, three children: Debbie (John) Ewing, Barb (Randy) Rudzinski, and Craig Fick, grandchildren: Johnny Ewing and Ross (Jenna) Ewing, Troy (Jaclyn) Rudzinski, Trevor (Ashley) Rudzinski, Brent Rudzinski (fiance Emily Fulmer), Mariah (Jack) Duke and Kylie Fick, great grandchildren: Bodhi, Penny, Sage, Lilly, Luke, Emma, Ava, Brayden and one due in February, brothers-in-law Ray (Sue) Fick and Lenny Meleski, sisters-in-law: Gloria Kujawa, Betty Fick, and Joan Fick, special nephew and niece Glen (Diana) Covaleski, as well as many other nephews, nieces and relatives. Rita was predeceased by her parents Frank and Tillie, brother Leonard (Mary Jane) Covaleski, sister Dolores Meleski, and in-laws: Earl (Mary) Fick, Irene (Jerry) Shute, Clarence (Elaine) Fick, Harvey Fick, Tom Fick, and Jim Kujawa.
