Susan Diane Smith passed away at her home on December 13, 2024 in Thermopolis. She was born September 17, 1955 in Coldwater Michigan to Victor and Barbara Smith.

Susan's family moved to Bellevue, Michigan where she attended Pennfield Community Schools from K -12th grade. After high school, she attended Hackley Hospital School of Nursing in Muskegon Michigan for 3 years  where she received her RN.

Susan first nursing job was at Leila Y. Montgomery Post Hospital in Battle Creek, Mi where she worked in the Orthopedic Department. After a number of years, she pulled up roots and went to Phoenix Arizona where she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. 

After leaving Good Samaritan Hospital, she became a traveling nurse for a few years and later settled in Thermopolis, Wyoming and began working at Hot Springs Health. She finished her nursing career at the Wyoming Pioneer Home in Thermopolis.

Susan had an interest in rock collecting, dinosaurs, reading and being a homebody. She also had empathy for cats and cared for them.

Susan is preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her sisters Mary Margeret Andrews, Vickie Smith and Jackie Cody, plus nieces, nephews and more. She is also survived by her close friend Andrea (Andy) Arrivee.

Susan will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those she cared for.
