Arturo Coronado Barrera, 84, passed away on December 13, 2024. He was born on June 13, 1940, in Beeville, Texas to Jose and Dora (Coronado) Barrera. He had worked as a gate guard in the oil field industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Dora Barrera; two brothers, Antonio Barrera and Jose “Empanada” Barrera, Jr; two sisters, Dolores “Lola” Arrisola and Jesusa Arroyos; three sons, Arturo “Gallo” Barrera, Jr., Franky Barrera and David Barrera; two grandsons, Joe Moya, Jr. and David Barrera, Jr; a granddaughter, Clarice Jolee Barrera and a son-in-law, Margarito “Pepe” Keller.
He is survived by his wife, Herlinda Herrera Barrera of Beeville; one sister, Josephine “Josie” Barrera Ramos; two sons, Leroy Barrera and Joseph Barrera both of Beeville; five daughters, Belinda Barrera Moya of Kenner, Louisiana, Anna (Donny) Deal, Dora (James) Moreno, Crystal (Bryan) Ramsey and Priscilla (Rey) Hernandez all of Beeville. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 pm - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 31, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6 pm. A chapel service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 2, with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Serving as pallbearers are Joseph Barrera, Roman Mancias, Joe Blake Kohlman, Byron Barrera, Jordan Keller, Donny Deal, Randy Arrisola, Adan Coronado, James Moreno, and Rey Hernandez.
