William G. Riedel, age 84 of Effort, PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 13, 2024 at his home.

William was the loving husband of Donna (Walther) Riedel. They have been married 54 years on May 31st.

He was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on August 8, 1940, son of the late George and Margaret (LaBrec) Riedel.

William had worked as a truck driver for Roadway in Tannersville, Pa and Roehl Trucking in Wisconsin until retiring. After his retirement he worked Maintenance at BWC Technology in Saylorsburg, PA.

He served our country with dedication and courage in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, PA.

He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert, PA where he volunteered many hours serving the Lord, church and community.

William loved the outdoors, hunting fishing, fireworks and was a master at setting up Christmas lights. He also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards and woodworking. Most of all William loved spending time with his family, especially his 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

We have been blessed with the presence of William in our lives, he will be deeply missed by his loving wife: Donna (Walther) Riedel of Effort, PA, his children: William Riedel and wife Mary of Throp, WI, Amber Lear and husband Jeffrey of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Sherri Roberts and husband Charlie of Gilbert, PA.

He is also survived by three siblings: Marge Ronning of Minnesota, Ken Riedel of Wisconsin and Thomas Riedel and wife Suzanne of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by daughters: Elizabeth Struble and Rebecca Riedel, sisters: Joanne Lapre and Delores May and her husband Clayton, sister in law: Karen Riedel

A Celebration of William's life will be held in Spring 2025.
