Elva Lattimore affectionately went home to be with the Lord after a short illness on December 13, 2024. She was born to the late Kenneth and Irene Eley.
Elva was born in Smithfield, Virginia later moving to Hampton where she attended George P. Phoenix High School. Soon after she met and married the love of her life, James Lattimore. Elva was a very happy and playful person with many facial expressions. Elva loved playing bingo, cards, spending time with family, caring for family members, eating crabs and making her famous rice pudding. She worked many jobs before retiring from Hampton City schools as a bus aid.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Eley and Eva Irene Eley; husband James Lattimore; her sister Audrey Boyd and brother Kenneth Eley Jr.
Left to cherish her precious memories six children, Jonthan Eley, Vernita Eley (Gordon), Victor Eley (Joan), Tamico Priester (James), Dale Tate (William), Latonya Lattimore (Marcus); 13 grandkids, Lakia Eley, Shikerra Crossdale, Brandon Brown, Malisha Eley, William Tate III (Sha’Dena), Brionna Tate, Xavier Eley, Victor Eley Jr., Chelsey Tate, Morgan King, Taylor King, Marcus King Jr.; 19 greatgrandchildren; five sisters, Gloria Lipscomb, Willie Irene Toliver, Robbins Houston (Edwin), Cynthia Eley , Clarissa Eley; One brother, Nathaniel Eley and a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
