Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Large, 64, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on December 13th, 2024, from cancer. Beth faced many challenges in her early life but emerged as a beacon of resilience and determination. Despite enduring difficulty early on, she found the strength to rebuild her life and inspire those around her.

Beth was born August 3, 1960 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Mary Ellen (McDonald) Large and Walter Large, the 4th of 6 children: Steve, Alan, Kathy, Beth, Mark and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother John Large. She is survived by her son Chad Peterson and a wide circle of friends who became her chosen family. In her last days she was surrounded by love with her beloved cousin Michelle Shorter, friends Fran and Annette, and Daffy her cat by her side. She cherished her high school friends and the many other friendships she developed along the way. She will be missed in her community.

Beth grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska and graduated from Central Catholic High School. As a young adult she married briefly and had one son. She worked in retail management for many years in Canada and Florida and eventually moved to Colorado.

Though her life took her through many struggles, she completely turned her life around, an achievement that defined her remarkable second chapter. During this time, she worked tirelessly to make changes in her life, eventually establishing her own successful business as a homekeeper where she became trusted and loved by many of her clients.

Beth will be remembered for her love of animals and nature. She had a sharp wit and generous spirit. She was a testament to the strength of the human spirit, embracing life with compassion and courage despite the hardships she faced. She has been an inspiration to many.

A celebration of life will be held on December 30th at 562 W Jamison Place, Littleton, CO 80120 from 3:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, as per Beth’s request, contributions can be made to an animal shelter of your choice or Safe Place for Pets that helps house animals for dying patients at safeplacepets.org.
