August Charles Wulf

7/4/44 – 12/13/2024

Gus, or Sunny to his family and close friends, was born on the 4th of July. He loved telling everyone that the whole country celebrated his birthday.

Gus is survived by his beautiful wife Tammy, and his children Gus Jr (Sharon), Bryan (Patty), Cassidy (Tommy), Taylor (Molly), grandchildren Brett, Matt, Evan, Hannah, Sarah, Abby, Andrew, Peyton, and Serenity. Great grandchildren, Jake, Aubree, Ivy and Dominic.

Sunny is preceded in death by his parents, August William Wulf and Norma Isabelle Wulf as well as his brothers Duray Barton and Larry Wulf.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus council 3660.

Gus graduated from Decatur Central High School and went to work at his family’s factory, American Valve and Enameling, until they sold the company at which time he moved to Tennessee to work for a family friend in the same line of business. 

He moved back to Indianapolis in 1996 to be close to family.  Gus took a position at Sheet Metal Models as Plant Manager until his retirement in 2019.

Those who knew him knew he had a dry, razor-sharp sense of humor and a poker face no one could break. He was very proud of his family and their accomplishments and bragged about them every chance he got. He was always available to help out a friend or neighbor and cherished the friendships he made at Good Shepherd, the K of C, Sheet Metal

 Models and his neighbors that he looked out for.

He passed away suddenly on December 13, 2024. His passing has left a huge hole in the lives of his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.

A Mass will be said for him on Friday December 27, 2024 at Good Shepherd Church 2905 Carson Ave, Indianapolis 46203 at 3:00PM with memorial gathering beginning at 2:00PM.
