Charles Raymond Walker Obituary

Charles Raymond Walker, 46 of West Fork passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville

He was born August 7, 1978 in Denver, CO to Charles albert Walker and Bessie Wilma (Parks) Walker.

Survived by life long partner, Christial Gail Byrum-Walker, daughter, Hannah Dawn Byrum-Walker, son, Charles Damon Walker, daughter, Amy Nicole Walker, and son, Levi Micheal Walker, all of Farmington, Arkansas. He also would have wanted to include his many friends of North West Arkansas, some of which he was known for claiming as his family. Chuck was preceded in death by Charles A Walker, father, and Bessie W Walker, mother, of Farmington, Arkansas.

Charles affectionally known to most as Chuck or Skeet was born in Denver Colorado August 7, 1978, soon moving to NWA with his family who was well established in the Farmington area from before 1900. Chuck grew up attending Farmington Schools. He was known for his humor and antics from the beginning to the end. Chuck started working at 14 and he never looked back. Hard work for an honest days wage was all he asked for. He started his career in auto body with Karstetter and Glass in Fayetteville. He soon decided to open his own shop Walker Auto Body, during which he met and fell in love with his life long partner Christal Byrum. Soon came his first daughter Hannah, followed by his son Damon, daughter Amy, and son Levi. His life’s little treasures! He was a loving father and husband who tried to support and provide for them all, never wavering from taking the burden of life to keep it easy on his family. During his career he worked at a multitude of commercial shops, dealerships, and owned several businesses along the way. His hobbies of fast cars and raw horsepower was always in his life or stories he told. Amongst the auto body work he also was a mechanic who could repair anything from foreign to domestic autos and specialized in transmission rebuilds. His last shop of 10 years Jakebuilt Transmission and Auto on Viney Grove Road where he serviced anything and everything that graced the doors was second major accomplishment that he was extremely proud of. His first and most important accomplishment he was proud of were his kids. Unfortunately on the 12th of December Chuck after an evening of being ill decided to head to the ER late, which was unusual for him to agree to. By early hours on Friday morning they realized he had a grave medical heart issue requiring emergency surgery, we without a doubt know when his soul hit heaven that morning he was rejoicing being reunited with his father and his best friend “Moses” Micheal Matlock. The Lord above obviously had a very special auto body and mechanical project to be finished with all that raw horsepower and burning rubber! Chuck will live on in memories, stories, and the legacy of him in our hearts. May our hearts always carry him on in spirit. Private burial will be held at Dowell Cemetery in Fayetteville.  The family will host a Celebration of Life Memorial service at a later date.
