Santiago L. Muzones, Jr. died on Friday, December 13, 2024 in Iloilo, Philippines. He was 92 years old.
Santiago was a community leader who founded and organized the United Filipino American Association, Iloilo Society of America and “Salamat Po” Block Watch. He was the Executive Chairman and Grand Marshall of the Santacruzan Festival in Jersey City. In 1982, he was appointed as Honorary Mayor of Jersey City and in 1994, he was appointed as Commissioner of Human Rights in Jersey City.
Santiago was born on March 29, 1932 in Iloilo, Philippines and is survived by his four sons: Ferdinand M. Muzones and wife Christine D. Muzones, Henry M. Muzones and wife Debbie M. Muzones, Santiago M. Muzones Ill and wife Maria Victoria Muzones, and Cezar M. Muzones and wife Julie Muzones, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and close friends.
