Shirley Lynn “Sissy” Edwards, age 55, of Westfield, IL went on to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2024 unexpectedly at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. She was born to Donald Lee Edwards and Betty Lou (Warman) Edwards on November 19, 1969, at the old Charleston, IL hospital.

Sis was a 1988 graduate of Casey-Westfield High School. She was well known by her family, friends, and the customers she served at the Westfield Café as “Sis” or “Sissy”. Sis had a very “spunky” attitude and took no baloney from anyone. She dished it out, as well as took it in. She worked for over a decade at the Café, beside her mother, Betty Lou, who built, owned and ran the restaurant, until her passing in 2006. Sis worked at The Junction in Kansas, IL for many years. She also served in the kitchen of Casey Health Center and Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation both of Casey, IL. She had also worked briefly at TRW in Marshall, IL. Sis collected Pooh Bear paraphernalia, precious moments figurines, and loved angels.

It wasn’t until her late adulthood that she wished to be called by her middle name, Lynn. All who knew her would agree she had a heart of gold and those whom she loved, she loved deeply with her whole heart, unwavering. She especially loved and missed her best friend and mother, Betty Lou.

Survivors include her loving brothers, Andy Edwards and wife Chris and Chuck Edwards; nephew, Aaron Edwards; niece, Stacia Whalen and husband BJ; and great nieces and nephew, Kaylee Edwards, Elsie Pickens, Max Whalen. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Heather Leigh Edwards; paternal and maternal grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lynn “Sissy” was well loved and will be dearly missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
