LORMAN, MS:  Funeral services for Brian Keith Simmons,  55,  who died  Friday, December 13, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, MS, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, December 21, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in the Westside Community with Dr. Rev. Ray Earl Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Carbondale Cemetery with Thompson Funeral, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.

He attended and graduated from Port Gibson High School, class of 1987. He went on to attend Alcorn State University, where he graduated in 1991 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology. While attending Alcorn State University, he interned with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and United States Army Corps of Engineer - The Waterways Experiment Station as well as worked for Rainbow Casino. He pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Kappa Chapter. He also served in the United States Army, Army Reserve and pursued a career in electronics in Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Kenneth L. Simmons, Sr., brothers, Kenneth L. Simmons, Jr., and Curtis E. Simmons.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother Christine L. Simmons of Lorman, MS; two sisters, Sabrina D. Simmons, of Columbia, MD and Kimberly S. Ellington, of Odenton, MD, one brother, Christopher C. Simmons, Sr., of Cordova, TN, two sisters-in-law, Sarah Simmons (Kenneth), of Byram, MS and Sheila Simmons (Curtis) of Memphis, TN, one niece Christy Simmons of Memphis, TN, six nephews, Cory Simmons of Brooklyn, New York, Brandon Simmons of Byram, MS, Christopher Simmons, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Devin Simmons of Memphis, TN, Miles Ellington of Odenton, MD, Adrian Ellington of Odenton, MD and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
