KENT, OHIO – Larry Frank Kannal of Kent, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born in Salem, Ohio on May 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Lois P. Blair Kannal. He was a graduate of East Fairfield High School, Class of 1956 where he met Donna Jean Garrod, his “Lifetime Sweetheart,” in the Junior Class Play. His family was his pride and joy; selflessly outpouring his love and devotion to his wife, his children and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and great-grandchildren. When he spoke publicly, he would state that the greatest gift a father could give to his children, was to love their mother. He left a beautiful legacy of love. Larry was a State Farm Insurance Agent for 57 years. Being a “Good Neighbor” came naturally to him. Larry and Donna served as Gideons.

Larry is survived by his four children and their spouses, Larry A. Kannal of Kent, Ohio, Brenda A. Depew (Mark) of Hudson, Ohio, Kathy J. Baer (Tom) of Pickens, South Carolina, and Eric T. Kannal (Kim) of Davie, Florida; his nine grandchildren Ashley N. Kannal, Nathaniel H. Depew (Katelyn), Emily K. Depew (David Londono), Caroline G. Depew (Jack Allen), Jonathan G. Depew, Nicholas C. Baer (Hannah), Kristen J. Murray (Neilson), Alison M. Kannal (Fiance Nick Begliomini), and Drew F. Kannal; and his eleven great-grandchildren Teddy, George and Hadley Depew, Sofia Depew-Londono, Chandler, Oliver, Audrey, Charlotte, and Eleanor Baer, Adeline and Audrey Kate Murray. He also is survived by his sisters, Sandra Anderson (Dave), of Uniontown, Ohio, and Vicki Tucker (Tim Duble) of New Waterford, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna J. Garrod Kannal, and brother Clarence E. Kannal of Las Vegas, NV.
