Virginia "Sue" Luna Kaufman, 86, of Winnebago, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2024 after a long illness of kidney disease, at the hospital.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Sue was born on July 6, 1938, in Missouri; the daughter of Iris Mueller and James Luna.  She graduated from Winnebago High School in 1955.  She married the love of her life, Henry Kaufman on October 1, 1955, in the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Sue was a homemaker daycare provider for many years.  She enjoyed cheering on her grandkids in sports and she enjoyed playing cards and Bunco with her girl friends.  Sue loved making cookies, knitting and making quilts.  

Survived by her children, Grant (Anne) Kaufman of Winnebago, Elaine (Jeff) Lingel of Winnebago and Dayna (Kendall) Ford of Winnebago; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaufman, Matt (Christine) Kaufman, Ryan Kaufman, Joey Lingel (Jean), Travis (Kristin) Lingel, Chas Lingel, Amber (Joel) Gorretti, Toni (Jon) Grogan, Nick (Erin) Ford, Devyn Ford, Austyn (Brian) Edwards and many great grandchildren; sister, Carol Johnson, Debby Delay; sisters-in-law, Pat Luna, Nancy Luna and Judy Newberry.  Predeceased by her husband, Henry, daughter, Jill Johnson, parents, James Luna, Iris (Ormand) Mueller and brothers, Gary Luna, Dennis Luna, Ron Luna and Roger Luna.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 208 W Winnebago St, Winnebago, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Lisa Lopez-Meyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sue's honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago, Vacation Bible School Fund.
