A lifelong caregiver, Emily worked at Wellesley Hospital as well as in housekeeping, cleaning, and manufacturing. When asked which job was her favourite, she shared caring for the family and home of good friend Rossie Bailey.

Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Emily’s spirit was infectious, and she loved nothing more than hosting lively gatherings at her home on Sarah Street in Beaverton where there would always be a big feed of cabbage rolls or chicken currie. Her love for life and her generous heart were evident to all who knew her. She found special joy in visits to the Canadian east coast, particularly Glace Bay on Cape Breton Island and cherished time spent at the cottage on Thorah Island.

Emily was the life of the party and had a unique ability to bring joy to any occasion, often dressing up in character and bringing humor and laughter to all around her.

Emily was an active and dedicated volunteer, touching the lives of many through her unwavering commitment to service and kindness. She spent many years contributing her time and talents to several organizations.

She was a proud member of the Beaverton Lioness, Friends of the Beaverton Library, and the Gamebridge Women’s Institute.

Emily leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the many individuals who provided support and care during Emily’s final years. Special thanks to Homecare PSW Mindy from SE Health, the nurses and medical staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Victoria Manor in Lindsay. Your kindness, care, and companionship helped make her last years more comfortable, and the family is forever grateful.
