It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Leslie “Chuck” Cook on December 13, 2024.

Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather, the rock of our family. He is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Clements Cook; daughter, Casey King, son-in-law, Donald “Deke “King and granddaughter, Mikaela King; brother, Mark Cook (wife Rhonda); sisters, Glenys Gibson, Dawn Cook (partner Charles Robbins); nephews, Brock Cook (wife Jessica) and Jordan Gibson (partner Lindzee).

He was preceded in death by his parents Harless Gratton Cook and Ada Kathleen Cook and brother, Jeffrey Shannon Cook.

Chuck was a founding member of the Woodridge Hunt Club and an avid outdoorsman. He loved the camaraderie and the thrill of the hunt.

He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed making people laugh with his quick wit and storytelling. He left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him and will be forever missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 21,2024 from 2:00PM – 3:00PM followed by the Funeral Ceremony from 3:00PM – 4:00PM at Hill & Wood Funeral Home – Charlottesville Chapel 201 N. 1st Street, Charlottesville, VA. 22902.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to samaritanspurse.org to help with ongoing relief efforts in western North Carolina.
