Doris Mae Pietzschke passed away on December 13, 2024 at the age of 91. Doris was born May 4, 1933 in Mexico, MO to the late Frank and Lena Graue nee Finke.
Doris grew up in rural Bear Creek community south west of Jonesburg, attended Walnut Grove School and graduated from 8th grade there, then went on to attend Jonesburg High School and after her sophmore year moved to Warren Co. R-III High School where she graduated  in 1951. Doris went on to college and received her bachelor's degree in education in 1955. The summer after earning her degree she married the love of her life Edgar Pietzschke on August 13, 1955 at Frieden's UCC in Warrenton. Doris went on to continue her education and received her masters degree also from University of Missouri, while in college Doris was on the Deans honor roll and was a member of the Pi Lamda Theta-National Honorary for women in education. Doris taught in Montgomery R-II High School as a business teacher until 1965. 
Doris was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was confirmed as an adult. She was a member of the Ladies Aid where she served as secretary and treasurer for numerous years. She was elected to the Montgomery School board and served two terms, and also was a member of the Jonesburg PTA where she served as secretary and president.
 Doris enjoyed flowers and gardening, she enjoyed canning and making jellies from her works of the garden. Loved baking bread, sewing, quilting and playing the piano. Doris enjoyed going back to school reunions and visiting with her former students. 

Doris is survived by her daughter, Karen (Keith) Sands of Columbia, MO; granddaughter, Kaylee Sands; She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Edgar Pietzschke and her parents.   She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
