Mary Roselyn “Rose” Alesich Severa passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at the age of 78. She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph John Severa. Loving mother to Melinda Riso (Ray), Roger Severa, Tiffany Pate (Christian), Kimberly Dennis (Jimmy), and Davin Severa (Kim). Doting grandmother to Hailey Criddle (Luke), Amber Durrett (Logan), Will Wright, Calli Miranti (Vince), Brianna Dennis, Nicole Riso, Meredith Severa, and Maycen Severa, also 1 Great grandchild, Chanel Jo Miranti.
Also survived by her siblings Raymond Alesich Sr. (Sandra), Donnie Alesich (Melanie), and Donea Benandi (Stacy) ; nieces/nephews: Andy Alesich, Andrea Alesich, Danny Alesich, Crystal Alesich, Catherine Chachere (Adam), Ray Alesich (Jetra), Christopher Alesich (Robyn), Donna Scanlan (Shawn), Payton Benandi, Cameron Benandi and Corrine English (Brandon) and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Andrew F Alesich, Sr. and Audrey Pearl Ragas Alesich and brother Andrew “Buddy” Alesich, Jr. (Marie).

Rose was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Metairie.
She most enjoyed family gatherings, and spending time with family and her beloved friends. She spent many days cheering on her children and grandchildren at ballparks, stadiums, dance studios, and ice rinks. She devoutly prayed for her loved ones. She loved visiting her hometown of Buras, LA, and also taking trips to Gatlinburg, TN where she and her husband Joe spent their honeymoon. Joe was the love of her life for 58 years, and she never tired of telling their love story.  She was a loving and devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren, doting on all of her "baby hearts" and constantly showering them with love and affection. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, loving baby-sitter of many honorary grandchildren, and a talented seamstress who loved to sew beautiful dresses for her granddaughters. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild and was looking forward to more to come. 


Family and friends are invited to attend the Service on Friday, December 20, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA. 70003. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM with a Mass at 1:30 PM. Interment will be immediately after at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA. 70001
