On New Years Day in 1932, a baby girl was born to Margaret L. (Gunn) Worth and Thomas F. Worth. Ruby Lemont (Worth) Trask grew up on Regina Rd. in Lynn, Massachusetts and attended Lynn English High School, going on to junior college where she learned shorthand and other secretarial skills. In 1956 she married the love of her life, picking up the name Trask. She had two girls, Susan and Julie. Following her divorce, she went back to college at the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Communications. She went to work for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she worked in Business credit and remained until retirement. She worked other jobs simultaneously for Paul and Polly Krikes (auctioneer) on weekends, and famously at the Fox Run Mall greeter’s desk in the evenings. Everyone enjoyed Ruby. Her final employment was with Coolidge Law firm in Somersworth, NH where she made many friends and was beloved.
Ruby’s hobbies included ceramics, knitting and making her own children’s clothing. She was a fierce competitor in tennis. She successfully sold Avon and Tupperware in the 1960s and was well known for making excellent fudge for Christmas and chicken a la king. Her teriyaki wings were a favorite at the many events she catered for her ex-husband’s business needs when living in Rye, NH.
Ruby has 5 grandchildren (Corey, Leslie and Sean MacEwen, Benjamin Serfass and Jessica (Serfass) Doucette) and 4 great grandchildren (Kimber and Bristol Doucette and Isabel and Eleanor Ruby Serfass), a niece, Kimberly Worth, and two nephews, Donnie and Kevin Worth. Ruby has enjoyed the love and devotion of an adoring family. She was pre-deceased by her brother Don.
A lover of animals, with wit as sharp as a laser, Ruby will be missed by many.
A special thank-you to the administration, nursing and staff at Johnson Creek Village, where Ruby received gold standard care. We couldn’t have done it without you and our gratitude is immense. We also deeply appreciate Wentworth Homecare and Hospice for providing the best nursing care. You know who you are!
Please, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. We need to press forward in helping all who suffer with this disease, both patients and families!
A celebration of her life will be shared at an open house on January 1, 2025, her birthday, from 1-4 p.m. RSVP to Susan Serfass via Facebook Messenger for information and directions.
