Charlotte Evalyn Walker Bacon Obituary

Charlotte Evalyn Walker Bacon, age 91, passed away at her home in Douglas, GA on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born on April 30, 1933, to the late Owen Onslow and Lois Clough Walker, she graduated as the Valedictorian from Douglas High School. She was a member of the Coffee Squares and the Garden Club. She taught preschoolers in Sunday School, for 40 years, at First Baptist Church Douglas, GA.


Her husband, William Slade Bacon, a Son, Forrest Owen Bacon preceded her in death along with Two Sisters, and Four Brothers. Surviving is a Son, Joel Slade (Mary Jane)Bacon and a Grandson, Benjamin Slade Bacon. She is also survived by numerous Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.


Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11:00am, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hattaway officiating. The Interment will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in Irwinton, GA following the service.


Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to First Baptist Church Douglas, GA


Active Pallbearers will be: Benjamin Bacon, Buck Bacon, Joel Bacon, Kinney Bacon, Natt Bacon, and Rob Bacon.
