EDWIN CABAN

1945 - 2024

Edwin Caban, 79, long time resident of Springfield, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on May 26, 1945 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan Caban and Angelica (Gonzalez) Caban. Edwin worked for the Springfield Water & Sewer Department, from 1980 and retired in 2006. Edwin enjoyed gardening and loved playing practical jokes but his passion was fishing. He will be missed dearly and is survived by his two sisters, Ramona (Caban) O’Brien and Maria (Caban) Hernandez, the love of his life Abigail (Diaz), 10 children starting with oldest to the youngest; Edwin Caban, Felix Caban, Mark Caban, Alyssa Caban, Betzaida Caban, Israel Caban, Sara Lee (Caban) Boria, Steven Caban, David Caban, Ilianette (Caban) Brunk, many adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, a multitude of friends and extended family. 

Edwin was predeceased by his parents, his brother Hector Caban and sister Nereida Caban Toro.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 4 to 6 PM. The Funeral will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 begin at 9:00AM from the La Rosa Funeral Home, 254 Main St., Holyoke, MA 01040 and followed by a graveside service in Fairview cemetery, Abbey St., Chicopee,MA
