Joe Brady, 80 year old San Antonio resident passed away, Friday, December 13, 2024 in Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 21, 2024 in the Cedardale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Harvey Joe Brady was born April 25, 1944 to Jim Tom and Virginia Mae (Chiuminatto) Brady in Beaumont, Texas. Joe grew up in Beaumont and graduated from French High School in Beaumont. He then attended ETBC in Marshall, Texas, Lamar University in Beaumont and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Joe was united into marriage to Carolyn Clayton Follmer on April 12, 1974 in Beaumont. The couple made their first home in Beaumont. They then moved to Cleveland, Texas, North Zulch, Texas and Rowlett, Texas before settling in San Antonio, Texas where they have resided since.
Joe worked as a pastor, worship leader, a teacher and principal. He was selected as a candidate for State Representative twice and was the Republican county chairman in Liberty and Madison counties. He often enjoyed collecting coins, listening to a variety music including Johnny Mathis and John Gary and acting in a little theater. Joe loved teaching the Bible, leading others to the Lord and praying for his family members and friends.
Joe served as the President of the school boards in North Zulch, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Virginia Brady and his brother, James Brady.
Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Kay Brady; sons, Matthew Brady and wife Lauren, Jonathan Brady and wife Lindsey; daughters, Kim Willis and husband Mark, Connie Stroud and husband Dwayne, Ginger Kelly and husband Chip; one brother, David Brady; sisters, Valarie Prigg, Merle Sehon, Becky Burleson; 24 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; other relatives and many friends.
