Doris May Baka, 80, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on December 13th, 2024 at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Doris was born in New Eagle on July 4th, 1944 to the late Robert Smith and Dorothy May (Henry) Simmons.

Doris was a member of the Charleroi First United Methodist Church and a past member of Monongahela Presbytarian Church, Helped with Charleroi Cub Scouts and served as pack treasurer, and also a member of Charleroi First United Methodist Women and served as Treasurer. She loved sewing, gardening, watching her favorite Hallmark movies, reading the Bible and her Devotions, and helping as much as she could with charitable causes.

Surviving to cherish Doris’ memory; her sons Arthur (Denise) Baka of New Eagle, Donald Baka of Finleyville, Steven Baka of Charleroi, and Michael Baka of Charleroi. Her grandchildren Heather (Colton) Sowers, Braydon Baka, and Bryon Baka and great-grandchildren Connor Sowers, Rhett Sowers, and Ava Baka. Her sisters Lois S. Armstrong of Aliquippa PA, and Mary (Tom) Bainbridge of Mannington WV. Her brother-in-law Joe (Bonnie) Baka of Leechburg PA, her sister-in-laws  Dorothy Behanna of Harker Heights TX, and Sharon Baka of New Castle PA, also her many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Baka, her brother John (Vera) Simmons, Sister and Brother-in-laws Eileen (Larry) Frolo, Tom Baka, and Jim Behanna, and her grandson Derrick Baka.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00am to 12:00pm (NOON), at which time the funeral service will begin inside the funeral home on Friday, December 20th, 2024 with Pastor Randy Ord officiating at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022 with interment following the funeral service at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
