David Allen Thomas, 82, born May 12, 1942 and died Friday, December 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Dave, as he was affectionately known by friends and family built his dream home along with his wife in London, Ohio where they resided for the last twenty years. Dave grew up in Dublin, Ohio and graduated from Dublin High School in 1960. Upon graduation he joined the Army and served for two years in Germany. Once he completed his enlistment he returned to the States and married his high school sweetheart, LaDonna Lee Odell on January 5, 1963. They then began their married life by moving to Kentucky and Dave attended Eastern Kentucky University graduating in three years with his degree in Education. Dave later earned his Masters degree from Miami University of Ohio. He taught and coached at Whetstone High School in Columbus, Ohio.

Dave loved trap shooting with his father at the Dublin Gun Club and then later was a member of Hayden Falls Gun Club. Dave and his father participated in the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s Grand American in Vandalia, Ohio for many years where Dave was awarded with several honors. Dave also enjoyed golfing and was part of several golf leagues. In 1975 Dave took over the family farming business and found his true passion. He loved farming and he loved his family.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John and Berniece (Moffitt) Thomas, brother, Norman Thomas and sister-in-law Jane (Patrick) Thomas. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna (Odell) Thomas, daughters, Tamera (Robert) Headlee, Julie Crossley, grandchildren, Alyssa Headlee, Michael Headlee, Kaitlyn (Martin) Ellis, Tyler (Kaylee) Crossley, Kyle (Jenna) Crossley, eight great-grandchildren, and sister, Dr. Jo Ellen Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 10th, 2025 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Madison County Vineyard 106 Olive Street, London, Ohio 43140.  Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.   Donations may be made to Madison Health Foundation, 210 N. Main Street, London, OH 43140.
