Martin J. Helisek, age 77, of Reading, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. He was born March 19, 1947, in Detroit to Frank and Frances (Vsetula) Helisek. He married Patricia Swieton on July 19, 1974, and she survives.

Martin graduated from Osborn High School in Detroit. He retired from the Branch County Intermediate School District where he worked in the custodial and maintenance department. Martin loved gardening, attending car and tractor shows, and cheering for the Detroit Tigers and Lions.

Surviving besides his wife of 50 years, Patricia are two children, Martin Helisek III of Coldwater and Alicia Mayer of Bronson; grandchildren, Adalie and Alex Mayer; and brother, Frank Helisek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Francis Helisek.

A graveside service for Martin Helisek will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Allen Cemetery with Deacon Aaron Petersen officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
