Carl Everett Van Natta Obituary

Carl Everett Van Natta, 84, devoted husband to Judy Van Natta, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Born in Louisville, KY, he was one of 14 children born to the late Earl and Mildred Catherine Polston Van Natta and outlived all of his immediate family.

Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served honorably during both the Vietnam and Korean wars. After his service, he pursued a career in the electronics industry, dedicating 20 years of hard work to Kemet Electronics, where he earned the respect and affection of his colleagues.

Carl met his beloved Judy at the Clock Drive-In on Stone Ave. and he was immediately smitten. They married just a few months later, embarking on 64 amazing years together that were enriched by the laughter and memories they created with their loved ones.

As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Carl cherished his family deeply. He was known lovingly as "Pop Pop," a title he wore with pride as he delighted in the joy of his grandchildren, always sporting a warm smile and a welcoming demeanor. He never met a stranger, had a wonderful sense of humor, and his ability to connect with others truly made him a friend to all. Especially his young friend Jasper.

His faith played an integral part in his life, as he was a devoted Christian man whose kindness and compassion touched everyone he met. His legacy of love, faith, and unwavering positivity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Carl was an active Member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Judy, Carl's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his two sons, Mark Kevin Van Natta (Tammy Tackett) and Chad Everette Van Natta (Karen Terry); and three precious grandchildren, Mark Konrad Van Natta, Stefan Luke Van Natta (Erin), and Samuel Koen Van Natta.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with a service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
