Patricia (Patti, Pat) Ann Sharp passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024. She was born October 10, 1936 in Oklahoma City, OK to Charles and Winnie Higdon. Patti grew up daughter number 4 of 5 girls surrounded by flowers and plants as her parents were the owners of Higdon Nursery. She eloped and married the love of her life, a blue-eyed delivery boy, Bill Sharp, in January of 1953 who preceded her in death in 2014.
Bill and Pat started their life together in Oklahoma City and were the owners of Sharp Mobile Home Sales. They had four children: Rod, Christi, Sammi, and Kerri. In 1968, they moved to Lake Tenkiller and owned Burnt Cabin Marina. Many friendships were made there, and the marina did actually burn down…twice, but the name was given prior to those events. In 1971, they moved to Tahlequah and owned Sharp Mobile Home Sales and Sharp Mobile Home Park on Fox Street. Bill and Pat later returned to the Burnt Cabin area and Pat worked in the office at Baker’s Furniture before relocating to Homestead, FL in 1987 where she was the office manager of a CPA firm. In 2004, Bill and Pat retired back to the Lake Tenkiller area.
Pat became a Christian and was baptized after marrying Bill at Springdale Baptist Church. Pat was currently a member of Cookson Baptist Church. She served as a greeter at her church for many years and enjoyed volunteering at Feed My Sheep in Tahlequah.
Pat lived a full life as a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother., The love for her family was very evident to all as they were very important to her. Every birthday, holiday, and anything in need of celebration always had us all together with great food and fellowship. She was not only thought of as a mom, but a best friend by her kids that absolutely treasured being with her.
Pat had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She always had an idiom to go with any situation. “That was finer than a frog hair split 3 ways.” Spending time with her always left you with a bit of wisdom and a true feeling of being loved.
Pat loved to read and garden and was an avid crossword puzzler. She often asked one to come help her with the crossword and by the time one would sit by her to help, she would be almost finished.
Pat was a great example to her children of a woman that balanced family and a career with grace. She did this before women were being seen as leaders in the workplace. She always encouraged independence and supported us with any endeavors we attempted. She truly believed that we could do it, so we did.
Pat is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, and sisters, Char Gulick and Burny Whitnah, and great granddaughter, Zoe. She is survived by two of her sisters: Carol McLennan of Lawton and Judy Hatley of Oklahoma City, children: Rod and Susan Sharp of China, Christi Sharp of Florida, Sammi and Kyle Turk of Tahlequah, and Kerri and David Garroutte of Claremore. Grandchildren: Tiffani Sharp, Misti(Jeard) Ballew, Shannon Sharp, Keeli(Curtis) Coyle, Sami Garroutte, Hunter(Breiahna) Garroutte, and Cole Sharp. Great grandchildren: Kodi, Eli, Aspen, Emma, Case, Charli, and Everett.
