Mia was a native of Lafayette and has resided in Sunset for the last eleven years. She was a 1988 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and was currently enrolled in classes to further her education. Mia had a strong faith in God, whom she thanked for getting her through hard times. She loved spending time with her two dogs, Sassy and Precious, that she loved immensely.

Survivors include her fiancé, Darrell Broussard; two sons, Brook Joseph DuBose (Allie), and Myles Brandon DuBose; one stepsister, Leigh Gilbert; grandchildren, Carlynn, Gracelyn, Westin, Madden, Lily, and Caroline; her mother, Elizabeth Kilchrist Gilbert, and her aunts and uncles, Debbie LeBlanc Summers, Karl Kilchrist, Phyllis Kilchrist Brodtmann.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Wayne LeBlanc; paternal grandparents, Maurice and Irene Watson LeBlanc; maternal grandparents, Charles R. Kilchrist and Betty Sue Angelle; aunts, Harriet Hebert and Betty Scruggs; one uncle, Don Summers; and her stepfather, Robert Gilbert.
