Joan P. Banholzer, 93, passed away peacefully December 13, 2024.


Born January 30, 1931, in Berlin, WI, she was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Sadie Marks; her twin brother, Julius; sisters, Doris (DeVillers) and Mary Lou (Greene); and brothers, Don and Gene.


Joan graduated from the Milwaukee State Teachers College in 1953. She and her husband Frank, of 69 years, resided between Milwaukee and Rio Verde, AZ before relocating to Greenville, SC.


She is survived by her husband, Frank; her children, Beth Bergersen, Mary Jo Gertz (Mike), and Mark; and her two granddaughters, Brittany Bergersen and Hannah Gertz.


Joan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Nana, and for her zest for life's many adventures.


Joan was proud to be club champion at both Ozaukee CC and Blue Mound CC and earned a Lifemaster status in the game Duplicate Bridge.


A celebration of life in Milwaukee will be held at a later date.
