Elaine (Thorick) Misoda, 84, of South Windsor, formerly of New Britain, wife of the late John Misoda, passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born on December 25, 1939, in Scranton, PA, she was one of three children of the late Michael & Mary Thorick.


Raised in New Britain, she was a graduate of New Britain High School. Along with raising her family, Elaine had been employed by the Aetna Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in New Britain. Elaine always enjoyed baking, cooking and going out to dinner.


She is survived by her son, Gregory Misoda of South Windsor and her brother Myron Thorick of West Warwick, RI. In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was predeceased by her son, Stephen Misoda and her brother, Stephen Thorick.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. in Manchester on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:00 am. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. At the request of her family, the burial will be private at Holy Trinity Byzantine Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor has care of the arrangements.
