Dennis Andrew Elix, 71, died peacefully on December 13, 2024 in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio on December 12, 1953 to Walter and Patricia (O'Brien) Elix.
His passion was people in their time of need! He comforted thousands of families though their times of grief and most times would have an instant and lasting connection with them for life. One of his biggest joy's was watching his grandson, Jackson, excel in sports and education.
Dennis was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph (Cold Spring, Ky) Catholic Church and proud 50+ year member of the Knights of Columbus, belonging to the 4th Degree Bishop Flaget Assembly. He was a co-chairman of the Catholic Charities of NKY golf outing for many years, past-president of Ft. Mitchell Kiwanis, and former member of the development committee at Bishop Brossart High School.
Dennis was an avid golfer and passed the love of the game down to his son and grandson. He was a diehard Notre Dame fan and loved going to every home game as a season ticket holder for the last 20 years. He also loved cheering on the Cincinnati Reds & Bengals and being one of Santa's helpers. Dennis cherished his annual vacations with his wife, friends and family, especially to Destin, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 44 years Carol (Herman) Elix , son Steve Elix, grandson Jackson Elix, sister Diane (Neil) Henkes, brother in law John (Shawna) Herman, nephews Ryan (Jess) Henkes and Matthew (Ashley) Henkes and great niece Mara Henkes.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Bishop Brossart High School Gymnasium in Alexandria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Kentucky.
Entombment will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bishop Brossart High School, 4 Grove Street Alexandria, KY 41001.
